In the chapter on the Elizabethan Theater we will examine the historical elements in the first part, focusing on the following chapters: 1. The Renaissance and its impact on England, The historical context of the period, The period that preceded the Elizabethan in the English theater. 2. The influences that shaped the theatrical art of the Elizabethan period, The medieval ethologies and interludes, The court masks, The influence of the Baroque, its main characteristics, the perception of the theater, the impact of the Baroque on the dramatic art. The sources of English drama of the period, Chronicle Plays and Broadsheet Drama. 3. The Playwrights of the Elizabethan Period, The "University Wits": John Lilly, Robert Greene, Thomas Lodge, George Peel, Thomas Nash, Christopher Marlowe, the special Ben Jonson, the unique William Shakespeare: biographies and details of his work by category (Historical Dramas, Comedies, Tragedies). 4. Elizabethan theaters and stages, James Burbaij's The Theatre, other well-known public theaters of the period, the Globe and performances of Shakespeare's plays, De Witt's depiction of the Swan Theatre, description of the venue, The troupes , the adult formations and the boys' student troupes of the Church Schools, their operating context, theatrical practice, acting, costume, sets. In the second part of the chapter we will focus on the dramas of the most important representative of the period, William Shakespeare, and in particular we will analyze dramatological excerpts from the works: Richard III, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet, King Lear. The analysis will focus on the description of the plot, the central characters, the theme of the works, connection with the historical and social context. The chapter will also include quotations from the works under study and excerpts from literature that will theoretically frame the texts.
