Abstract

Οι φυσικοί και τα αξιώματα του Peano. Ορισμός των ακέραιων και των ρητών. Ορισμός των πραγματικών με την μέθοδο των τόμων Dedekind. Για όλα υπάρχουν διεξοδικές αποδείξεις. Παρουσιάζονται, αλλά πολύ περιληπτικά, και οι μέθοδοι ορισμού των πραγματικών με τις ακολουθίες Cauchy και με τα εγκιβωτισμένα διαστήματα. Παρουσιάζεται και η αντίστροφη θεμελίωση: το σύνολο R θεωρείται δεδομένο και ορίζεται το N ως το ελάχιστο επαγωγικό σύνολο.

The natural numbers and the axioms of Peano. Definition of the integers and of the rational numbers. Definition of the real numbers by means of Dedekind cuts. There is also a brief presentation of the definition of real numbers by means of Cauchy sequences and by means of nested intervals. There is a presentation of the inverse course: the set of the real numbers is taken for granted and the set of natural numbers is defined as its smallest inductive subset.
