Abstract:
In this chapter an introduction to telescopic systems is given. Their definition and basic design principles are given. Telescopic crowns, conical crowns, telescoping (milling) clasps are considered and their retentive force and the factors on which it depends, their advantages and their construction materials are discussed. Telescopic dentures as representative combined telescopic work are also examined and the concept of primary and secondary splinting is defined.
