Abstract:
This chapter will cover the techniques by which the basic part (stable part) of the precision attachment is incorporated into the fixed prosthetic work. There are three ways to connect precision attachmnets with fixed prosthetic restoration: 1) Casting of the attachment from the same alloy with that of fixed prosthesis (casting connection), 2) welding of the metal joint onto the fixed prosthesis with metal welding and use of flame (welding connection) or laser, 3) welding of the attacments on fixed prosthesis using "anaerobic" resin glue. A step by step presentation will be made for each connection method and the advantages and disadvantages of each method will be discussed.
