Description:
Abstract:
In this chapter, the basic topologies and architectures of satellite networks encountered in practice are described, which are an introduction to the detailed description of satellite systems that follow in subsequent chapters. Specifically, single and multi-beam satellite networks, link interconnection techniques, inter-satellite links, as well as Star, Mesh and Hybrid topology are analyzed. Also, Point-to-Point and Point-to-MultiPoint architectures and link types are studied, as well as multicast and internet networks.
