Description:
Abstract:
The satellite part consists of different subsystems, each of which performs a different, but equally important action or function. The different subsystems include the power supply subsystem, the control subsystem, which includes functions such as thermal control and trajectory control, the transponder subsystem to support communications, as well as the telemetry, tracking and command (TT&C) subsystem, which is responsible for maintaining the orbital position and proper functioning of the satellite in space. In this chapter, initially, a brief description of the external and internal structure of a satellite is carried out, while emphasis is placed on the description of each of the different basic subsystems. This chapter focuses on geostationary orbit telecommunication satellites.
