Abstract: |
In this chapter, a brief presentation is imprinted of the basic concepts of Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) and antennas used in satellite communications. Specifically, a brief reference is made to EMF and antennas, giving some basic concepts (electric and magnetic fields, waves and polarization, EMF radiation, sources of electromagnetic fields) and examining the faced problems (e.g. depolarization). The chapter concludes with the detailed description of antennas used in satellite applications.
