Abstract:
In the first chapter of the proposed textbook, the subject matter of administrative law as a scientific field is analyzed, along with its relationship to other branches of law and the fundamental principles that govern it. Specifically, the chapter examines the position of administrative law within public law, especially its relationship with constitutional law, as well as the distinction between the general and special parts of administrative law. It also explores the relationship between administrative law and private law, as well as competition law, and considers the influence of European Union law on national administrative law. Furthermore, the chapter analyzes the fundamental principles governing administrative law, in particular: a) the principle of legality of administrative action, b) the principle of protection of the public interest, c) the principle of equality, d) the principle of proportionality, e) the principle of legitimate expectations of the administered, and f) the principle of good administration.
