Σύνθεση χάρτη σε ψηφιακό περιβάλλον

Abstract

Στο κεφάλαιο αυτό, παρουσιάζονται οι διαδικασίες που ακολουθούνται για τη σύνθεση χάρτη σε ψηφιακό περιβάλλον. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, παρατίθενται τα στοιχεία της χαρτοσύνθεσης, οι αρχές της χαρτογραφικής σχεδίασης, τα στοιχεία του χαρτογραφικού σχεδίου, τα στοιχεία του χαρτογραφικού συμβολισμού και ο τρόπος που αυτά υλοποιούνται σε περιβάλλον QGIS και ArcGIS, ανάλογα με τα κατά περίπτωση διαθέσιμα εργαλεία.

This chapter is central to the book, as indicated by its title. Given the breadth of specialized knowledge required for map composition and rendering, the chapter summarizes the most essential elements that constitute the necessary knowledge base for this phase of the cartographic process. It covers principles and objectives of cartographic design, stages of map composition, the role and method of cartographic data analysis to assign appropriate symbols during rendering, and the design of symbols. It also addresses the use of color and the rendering of toponyms.
