Abstract:
Chapter 6 "Changing the Coordinate Reference System" describes the process of changing the coordinate reference system of geospatial data. This transformation can be used for the combined utilization of thematic data recorded in the cartographic database that use a specific reference system, such as GGRS '87, with geospatial data from other sources, such as GPS data, nautical charts, etc., that use a different cartographic projection and/or reference system. Additionally, this process is essential for rendering maps in the optimal cartographic projection that best suits the purpose, form and scale of the mapped area.
