Description:
Abstract:
Chapter 4 "Search and Use of Geographic Data from Other Sources" refers to geospatial data not collected by the user during the creation of the cartographic database but potentially obtained from other sources, including the internet. Often, geospatial data from other sources are available in a neutral format, such as shapefile files, or as services from online spatial data servers, for example, orthophoto maps from the Hellenic Cadastre. The methodology by which this data can be utilized or integrated into the cartographic database is then analyzed. Special attention is given to identifying and addressing potential issues such as suitability, quality, coordinate reference system discrepancies, spatial inconsistencies, and more.
