| Abstract: |
A description will be provided of both normal fertilization and that associated with multiple pregnancy and trophoblastic disease. There will be a description of the normal development of the embryo, placenta, and amniotic fluid. Reference will be made to pathological conditions in the development of the embryo (such as intrauterine growth retardation), pathological conditions of the placenta (such as placental precursor), and pathological conditions of the amniotic fluid (such as oligohydramnios and polyhydramnios).
