Modern Techniques For Assessing Students Performance Educational Technologies |
Description: | |
Abstract: |
Undoubtedly, today, at the dawn of the 21st century, education in all its forms is undergoing rapid transformation, striving to respond to the constant and rapid changes taking place in the globalized economic and technological environment. The primary concern and overarching goal of education in today's Learning Society is not only to teach useful and necessary knowledge in every subject area, but above all to develop and cultivate strong cognitive, metacognitive, social, and communication skills that will enable every student to become an independently thinking and active citizen of the 21st century. A key issue is how teachers can assess whether learners have acquired the required knowledge and skills. Contemporary forms of educational assessment that utilize digital technologies are emerging as one of the most powerful tools that can contribute decisively to answering the above question and confirming that assessment can be used to improve the educational process. This is confirmed by the growing body of literature (books, articles in international journals, and conferences) that has been published in recent years. However, there is currently no corresponding book in Greek literature that presents contemporary forms of educational assessment. This book fills this gap by presenting, in a holistic way, both the theoretical and practical background of the concept and content of educational assessment in the 21st century, as well as the modern techniques and tools for assessing performance that are used in contemporary educational environments.
