Description: | |
Abstract: |
In this chapter, some basic rules of Latin prosody and metrics are presented. Additionally, the theory of the dactylic hexameter and the elegiac couplet is analyzed in detail. The theory is accompanied by an anthology of selected texts for practical exercise. This chapter is placed at the end not to be taught last but as an appendix. The instructor can use it both at the beginning of their lectures and throughout the semester, referring students to it for continuous metrical practice.
