Abstract: |
In this chapter, the so-called diptychs are examined—pairs of poems that either provide continuity between two poems or offer variations on the same theme. These pairs are usually found in direct succession or in close proximity to one another. The analysis of each elegy is structured as follows: Introduction, Text, Vocabulary, Translation, Notes/Commentary.
