In the second and final introductory chapter, we begin by briefly reviewing the concept of a function and examine some special cases of functions. Then we review the definition and basic properties of trigonometric functions. We conclude by showing something new, namely how we can construct the graph of a function using polar coordinates instead of Cartesian coordinates.
