Δημόσιες αστικές συγκοινωνίες (ΔΑΣ)

Abstract

Γίνεται αναφορά στο ρόλο και σημασία των ΔΑΣ στο αστικό περιβάλλον και στο γενικότερο ζήτημα της ένταξης ενός συστήματος ΔΑΣ στον αστικό χώρο. Τα συστήματα ΔΑΣ κατατάσσονται σε κατηγορίες και γίνεται μια θεώρησή τους με αναφορά στα ιδιαίτερα χαρακτηριστικά τους. Γίνεται ακόμη αναφορά στην ανταγωνιστικότητα και βιωσιμότητα των αστικών Μεταφορών και στη σημασία του νομικού, θεσμικού και οικονομικού περιβάλλοντος της αστικής περιοχής στην οποία καλείται να λειτουργήσει ένα σύστημα ΔΑΣ. Περιγράφονται τα βασικά επίπεδα σχεδιασμού των ΔΑΣ και η αλληλεπίδρασή τους με άλλα επί μέρους συστήματα αστικών μεταφορών. Γίνεται αναφορά στο σχεδιασμό και λειτουργία των διαφόρων συστατικών ενός δικτύου ΔΑΣ, όπως τερματικοί σταθμοί, λεωφορειολωρίδες, στάσεις, καθώς και στον τρόπο και μεθόδους που αυτά αξιολογούνται. Τέλος, δίνεται η μεθοδολογία υπολογισμού της στάθμης εξυπηρέτησης στις ΔΑΣ και θίγονται σε ένα πρώτο επίπεδο ζητήματα όπως η έννοια της ποιότητας στις ΔΑΣ, της ικανοποίησης των επιβατών κα.

Reference is made to the role and importance of PT in the urban environment and to the broader issue of integrating a PT system into the urban space. PT systems are classified into categories and considered with reference to their specific characteristics. Reference is also made to the competitiveness and sustainability of urban transport and the importance of the legal, institutional, and economic environment of the urban area in which a PT system is to operate. The basic levels of BRT design and their interaction with other urban transport systems are described. Reference is made to the design and operation of the various components of an ITS network, such as terminals, bus lanes, stops, as well as the manner and methods by which they are evaluated. Finally, the methodology for calculating the level of service in BRT systems is presented, and issues such as the concept of quality in BRT systems, passenger satisfaction, etc. are addressed at a basic level.
