Distribution Systems Analysis
Authors: Georgilakis, Pavlos
Reviewer: Stavrakakis, Georgios
Description:
Abstract:
This chapter establishes methods for the analysis of electric power distribution systems. Two methods for solving the power flow problem are presented: the exact AC power flow method and an approximate method applicable to radial distribution networks. Power flows, voltages, and power and energy losses are calculated in distribution networks with concentrated and distributed loads. The impact of shunt capacitor placement on losses and voltages in the distribution system is studied. Specifications and voltage regulation of the distribution system are also presented.
