| Abstract: |
The purpose of this chapter is to describe and analyze fiscal policy, i.e., the management of government spending and taxes, and monetary policy, i.e., changes in the money supply. The goal of the government, which implements fiscal policy, and the Central Bank, which implements monetary policy, is full employment and price stability. This chapter analyzes the mechanism by which the exercise of economic policy achieves these outcomes.
