Description:
Abstract:
In this chapter, all approved dietary supplements commonly used to support patient nutrition are compiled to facilitate easier identification and selection by dietitians, as well as comparison of their characteristics. For greater convenience, the supplements will be presented in large tables listing their key features such as energy content, nutrient composition (in grams and as a percentage ratio), quantity per package, available flavors, and specific characteristics like gluten or lactose-free, enrichment with dietary fibers, etc. The supplements will be categorized into three main groups: a) oral nutritional supplements, b) enteral nutrition supplements, and c) vitamin and mineral supplements.
