Abstract: |
Initially, this chapter describes the necessity of assessing anthropometric measurements and analyzes the importance of evaluating these parameters as an integral part of nutritional assessment. The anthropometric indices commonly used in clinical practice are mentioned (e.g., height estimation by measuring the knee height, body mass index, key skinfold measurements, various body circumferences, grip strength, percentage body weight loss over a specific period). Descriptions of how these measurements are assessed, their normal values, and the interpretation of the measurements are provided.
