Hormonal contraception (especially contraceptive pills) has been associated with protection against ovarian and endometrial cancer. On the other hand, combined hormone replacement therapy (estrogen and progestogen) has been associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. These and other associations will be described in the relevant chapter.
