Description:
Abstract:
Office spaces represent a thematic area with minimal Greek bibliography. This book aims to cover this gap by offering material that addresses the historical evolution of these spaces, contemporary organizational models of human resources, functional structure, but primarily the types of spatial organization. The ability of the building envelope to support different organizational models entails adapting the interior space in various design ways. Thus, the design of these spaces includes the spatial parts of the project: the building envelope, the structural elements of the interior space - floors, walls, partitions, and ceilings, the electromechanical installations with an emphasis on lighting design, as well as furniture and materials, as scenic elements. The evolution of technology has revealed new ways of working, connecting them with modern transformations in spaces and new conditions imposed on them. Within this framework, reference is made to the automated and virtual office, the alternative and individual office, the environmentally friendly office, while an overview and presentation of selected spaces from Greek reality are provided as examples of the new models.
