Abstract: |
The purpose of this book is to describe the necessary theoretical and technical knowledge related to pediatric dentistry at the laboratory level or in clinical simulation conditions, so that it can be used in clinical practice to improve skills to a level of excellence. The morphological and histological differences between primary and permanent teeth and how these affect cavity preparation for filling with amalgam or aesthetic materials. 2. The benefits of using a rubber dam for both the patient and the dentist. The necessary tools and materials for isolation. The various methods of isolation. The stages of isolation. Methods of isolation for anterior and posterior teeth. 3. Indications for the application of pit and fissure sealants (PFS). The stages of clinical application of PFS. Types of PFS materials. Frequency of PFS re-examination. Application of PFS on primary and permanent teeth. 4. Indications for the application of preventive composite resin fillings and the stages of their clinical application. 5. Methods for preparing Class I, II, III, and V cavities in primary teeth for fillings with composite resin, resin-modified glass ionomer cement, and amalgam. 6. Indications and methods for placing prefabricated stainless steel crowns and aesthetic crowns on primary teeth. 7. Indications and stages of pulpotomy in primary teeth. 8. The requirements for a proper immobilization splint after dental trauma, the various methods of immobilization, and the stages of applying an immobilization splint. 9. Indications for the application of fixed and removable appliances for space maintenance and recovery and the stages of their construction (wire ring, lingual arch, intermaxillary arch, palatal plate with springs, palatal expander, etc.).
