Industrial environment, business life cycle, and reorganization
Authors: Georgopoulos, Antonios
Reviewer: Polychroniou, Panagiotis
Description:
Abstract:
This chapter shows that businesses do not remain static but follow a life cycle, which begins with their birth, continues with their growth, and may then reach stagnation and death. This transformation is directly related to changes that occur in the external environment (e.g., according to PEST analysis), the industry environment (e.g., according to Porter's analysis), but also the internal environment, as shaped by strategic management decisions.
