Description:
Abstract:
The Pinus halepensis and Pinus brutia forests are one of the three characteristic Mediterranean ecosystems, the other two are the phryganic plants and the evergreen-hardwood shrubs. Fire (in its natural manifestation) is an integral component of both the Mediterranean-type climate and Mediterranean-type ecosystems that affects seed germination.
