Description:
Abstract:
This book aims to provide a comprehensive and evidence-based account of the mentoring institution, underpinned by both theoretical frameworks and empirical research. Its primary aim is to explore the challenge of training mentors so that mentors are adequately equipped to support future novice teachers during their teaching practicum. The ultimate goal is to examine the role of mentoring within the framework of practical training. Through its twelve chapters, the book seeks to provide a holistic view of mentoring, analyzing various implementation models, detailed stages of application, as well as contemporary tools that can be utilized in educational and professional practice. Rather than adhering strictly to a theoretical perspective, this book integrates empirical data, practical case studies, and examples of implementation, all of which support the direct transfer of knowledge into professional practice. Its multifaceted approach makes it a valuable resource for educators in their day-to-day work. This book is intended for teachers at all educational levels, practicum coordinators, mentors, and teacher educators, as well as professionals interested in applying mentoring within the context of apprenticeships or their own professional development. Additionally, as an open educational resource, it is offered freely and openly, with the consideration of serving as both a practical and theoretical guide for all those seeking to deepen their understanding and application of mentoring and teaching practice.
