The pedagogical framework in music teaching
Authors: Dionyssiou, Zoe
Reviewer: Akoyunoglou, Mitsy
Description:
Abstract:
The chapter focuses on basic concepts and terminology of pedagogy and music pedagogy science and art. Specific pedagogical terms are analyzed, such as “education”, “learning”, “teaching”, “training”, “pedagogy”, “didactics and music pedagogy”, as well as concepts related more specifically to music pedagogy, such as music syllabus, educational objectives, teaching scenario, lesson plan, materials, teaching process and assessment. The main purpose of the chapter is to put the teaching of music in a pedagogical context, where the pedagogical science will interact with the didactics of music, and the music teacher will cultivate his/her dual identity in the classroom, that of the educator and the artist.
