Abstract: |
Bioclimatic design encompasses the concept of ecological construction, namely the creation of conditions for environmental protection. Bioenergy which is produced from the exploitation of biomass, is a renewable and relatively mild form of energy. Thus, its integration into bioclimatic design can contribute to a cleaner environment. In this chapter, reference will be made to a. the materials (biomass) that can alternatively be used to produce environmentally friendly energy (mainly heating), and b. the technologies that can be applied in construction, with the goal of reducing atmospheric pollutant emissions.
