Description:
Abstract:
Solar energy is the primary source of energy that can be used either directly or indirectly to cover human energy needs. It can be utilised to produce heat, as well as for the generation of electrical energy, but it can also be used in the form of other mild energy sources. The systems through which solar energy can be exploited are: 1. active thermal systems of low and medium temperature, which collect and store solar radiation in thermally insulated tanks and convert it into heat, 2. passive solar heating systems referring to suitably designed building elements, to achieve the exploitation of solar energy, and 3. photovoltaic systems.
