Description:
Abstract:
In this chapter, we will examine the most basic functional forms of regression models. In more detail, we will consider practical applications for models that may or may not be linear in the parameters but may or may not be linear in the variables. For cases where the model is nonlinear concerning the estimation parameters, we will also show the corresponding transformation to be able to estimate it as well as the linear constraint test. We also discuss the process of normalizing the variables, their use in a regression model and their interpretation. In the last part of the chapter, we discuss the key goodness-of-fit measures for model evaluation.
