Abstract:
This chapter presents features of languages which lack a written form; effects of motor-visual modality in the option of transcription, glossing, language transmission in real time as well as language recording methods; devices and technologies used among the deaf and hard-of-hearing. Lastly, there is some reference to the main parameters that affect the quality of communication, such as speech-to-text, interpretation, spatial and psycho-cognitive parameters for optimization of communication with or among the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
