Description:
Abstract:
This chapter describes the structure of Greek Sign Language (GSL), following the classical approach of linguistic levels of analysis (Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics). In addition, selected types and categories are ascribed a more thorough depth of analysis, given the high degree of deviation from the Modern Greek paradigm; such types and categories are: plurals and quantifiers, time and modality notions, expressions of possession and existence, and comparison.
