Abstract: |
In the chapter titled “Chromosomes, Hormones, Neurobiology, Gender, and Sexuality” we delve into how a biased interpretation of sex and sexuality, influenced by Western evolution, shifted the focus of sociobiologists from genitalia, chromosomes, and hormones to the search for the genetic basis of sexual orientation. These efforts began in the 1980s in laboratories aiming to contribute to the Human Genome Project and create an enhanced species. At the root of this ideology was the reproduction of a sexist colonial discourse.
