Chapter 11 is dedicated to Greece's place on the energy chessboard. It starts with the use of lignite for electricity production in the post-war era. It refers to the oil fields in Greece and the Greek-Turkish tensions in the North Aegean. It analyzes Greece's energy dependence, examines the country's position as a potential energy producer and transit and raises issues related to the EEZ and energy policy.
