Abstract:
We discuss scattering between two spin zero particles without charge from the point of view of quantum mechanics. We consider the expansion of the scattering amplitude into partial waves and its calculation in the framework of the first-Born approximation. The symmetry of the scattering amplitude in particle exchange is used in the interpretation of scattering between bosons and fermions. We discuss the reciprocity theorem whose experimental verification leads to the invariance of the strong interaction under time-reversal.
