Coulomb scattering
Authors: Nicolis, Nikolaos
Description:
Abstract:
We study scattering by the Coulomb field in cases where the classical or wave nature of the projectile prevails. We also describe the scattering of alpha particles from gold nuclei, which led to the development of the planetary model of the atomic nucleus. Then, we discuss electron scattering as an important tool for the study of charge nuclear distributions.
