Description:
Abstract:
Chapter 2 examines the relevance of the library to education from antiquity to the present day. Education, which traditionally takes place in schools, academic institutions, and other establishments, has been one of the key services of the library since the 19th century. In the modern age, with the explosive production of information and knowledge, libraries, as organizations of information, science, and culture, alongside the accumulation, management, and dissemination of recorded knowledge, can play a significant educational role, both within the community they serve and in its external environment.
