Chapter Objective: The goal of this chapter is to complement the presentation of Linked Data technology by addressing open issues in its application in the contemporary environment of the World Wide Web. Contents: Linked Data in alternative formats: the priority of having open data in any format versus RDF format. Linked Data with write access capability: authentication and authorization techniques for implementing writable APIs. Provenance and lifecycle of Linked Data. Trustworthiness and uncertainty in Linked Data: reconciling conflicting RDF data. The relationship between Linked Data and Big Data and the analysis of the latter for building high-quality RDF databases.
