Abstract:
Numerical methods of special type for second-order ODEs are presented. Specifically, we work on the construction of Runge-Kutta-Nyström methods, Two-Step Hybrid methods and Partitioned Runge-Kutta methods with special properties. We construct exponentially and trigonometrically fitted methods, as well as methods with minimum phase-lag, minimum amplification error and symplectic methods.
