Chapter 2 examines the various types of binary form as pertaining to the dances of the Baroque suite. Particular emphasis is placed on the differences between sectional vs. continuous, symmetrical vs. asymmetrical, and rounded vs. simple binary form. The chapter concludes with a brief discussion of the composite ternary form in Baroque repertoire.
