Description:
Abstract:
The importance of language and its proper use for business management has now been documented in the international literature. In addition to being a communication tool, language creates reality, shapes identity, facilitates the diffusion of knowledge and learning, enhances creativity, and enables a meaningful and original understanding of complex organizational phenomena. At the same time, the use of language for reasons of manipulation and motivation for specific actions and behaviors is not rare. Managers, especially those involved in human resource management, should be competent and responsible in language use, formulating, implementing and evaluating language use policies. The chapter aims to capture the conditions for effective use of language within the context of meaning-making interaction (e.g. from the business side) and meaning understanding (e.g. from the staff side) in the organizational environment.
