The chapter refers to the cooperation that developed immediately after the Second World War between the International Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the governments of European countries, aiming at modernisation and development through the reorganisation of the economic, social, cultural and political map of the European area. As an example, the contribution of the OECD to the planning of the University of Patras (1964) is presented.
