Description:
Abstract:
Self-confidence is the individual's confidence in his strengths and abilities and belief in the achievement of his goals. Self-confidence largely characterizes the way a person thinks and becomes evident in the way he moves, behaves and reacts to the various situations he faces. Self-confidence is seen in the thoughts and beliefs the athlete has about himself on a daily basis. There are four main factors that influence people's self-confidence: experiences, role models, verbal persuasion, and physical stimulation. A lot of research has looked into boosting self-confidence in sports. Based on research, this chapter analyzes all the steps to enhance the above factors with separate examples for sports, physical education and exercise programs for healthy and clinical populations.
