Description:
Abstract:
Migrant remittances have become a major source of resources for many poorer countries. It is a transfer of resources, the size of which is very difficult to assess accurately as much of it is channelled outside the banking system and through informal family and social networks. However, the evidence we have shows that it far exceeds public transfers and is by far the most important aid flow.
