Many important real-world problems, primarily in physical, technological, and biological sciences, where various variables depend on the same independent variable, are formulated in mathematical terms, modeled, and simulated using systems of differential equations. Among these problems are movements in gravitational fields, coupled electrical circuits, and the study of population models involving predators and prey. The modeling of these problems has been a driving force for the theoretical and applied investigation of systems of differential equations. This chapter begins by defining the basic introductory concepts, establishing relevant terminology, and analyzing certain problem modeling approaches. Subsequently, a concise presentation of the general theory and solution techniques for linear systems of first-order differential equations is provided.
