Description:
Abstract:
The Osteology Atlas illustrates the human skeleton, namely the supporting frame, the protective covering, the axial skeleton, and the appendicular, which is responsible for movement in the human body. The Atlas constitutes a versatile educational tool for the study of human bones based on real-life depictions and it portrays all their parts and features, providing detailed anatomical terminology. This clear and thorough depiction of the skeletal anatomy is enhanced by a study of the most important bone variations, pathological traits, and trauma cases. High-definition photographs are used for this purpose, taken from the osseous collection of the Laboratory of Anatomy of Democritus University of Thrace. This textbook is unique in Greek medical literature and comprises a valuable learning aid for students at university faculties of Health and Life Sciences, more particularly Archaeology and Anthropology.
