Description:
Abstract:
Today, the production of knowledge in all fields of science and technology requires appropriate ways, both for its presentation and for its management and utilization. Geographic Information Systems are an excellent tool for storing, managing, analyzing and presenting geographic information, which places power in the hands of the analyst, the cartographer, the decision maker. Mathematical and statistical methodologies as well as cartographic techniques, which are integrated into Geographic Information Systems, enable the optimal management of information and more complete conclusions. The topic of this book focuses on getting familiar with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and learning the latest ArcGIS Pro software. This book is a guide to implementing the various functions of GIS, with the help of ArcGIS Pro, with a description of the functions of the software in illustrative ways, through exercises, images and interactive material. After a brief description of the theoretical background of GIS, the book focuses on getting to know and basic functions of ArcGIS Pro, data development, data analysis, creating proper maps, spatial analysis in three and four dimensions, the art of cartography and GIS methods and applications with an emphasis on the new functions of ArcGIS Pro. As technology evolves and the subject of GIS must also evolve, this book is a new, up-to-date text on GIS and the capabilities of the latest ArcGIS Pro software, which represents the new logic of GIS, and includes new tools, functions and methods of analysis.
