Abstract:
This chapter focuses on exploring the various issues and ways of developing distributed systems software. The functional and non-functional software requirements of distributed systems are presented and the various models used to implement them are examined. Also, there is a presentation of the frameworks and tools used to develop and run distributed systems software along with the distributed databases and the distributed file systems. In addition, the role of users in these systems, and how to grant access and execution rights to them are presented, and some real-world examples of distributed software applications are given.
