Description:
Abstract:
This book is an excerpt of 20 years of experience in Gpegraphic Information Systems (GIS) and aims to offer to the scientific and student community a new book that follows the developments of technology, applications and IT. The subject of GIS, like any computer science subject, must evolve, so the authors felt it imperative to offer the University community a new, up-to-date textbook on GIS. The first part of the book covers the theory needed to understand how GIS work, how it manages information, and the possibilities it can provide for geographic management and analysis. The second part is dedicated to learning ArcGIS software, but the approach is done in such a way that the reader has a deep understanding of how and why, so that he/she can use any GIS and not exclusively ArcGIS which this section refers to.
